Reading the dashboard
The dashboard is the first screen after you log in. It answers one question: is anything wrong right now?
The four numbers#
| Tile | What it means |
|---|---|
| Online servers | How many of your servers the agent is currently reporting from, out of the total. Anything less than all of them is worth a look. |
| Total projects | Projects across this organisation. |
| Open alerts | Alerts that have fired and not cleared. This is the one that should normally read zero. |
| Fleet uptime | The proportion of the last 24 hours your servers were reachable. |
"Online servers" is the tile people misread. 3/4 does not mean three servers
are healthy — it means one has stopped reporting. The sites on that fourth
machine may well still be serving; you have lost visibility, not necessarily the
service. See What "offline" means.
Alerts#
Open alerts are listed with a severity. Work top-down: critical and high first.
An alert that keeps firing and clearing on its own is a threshold problem, not an infrastructure problem. Either the threshold is too tight or the check is too sensitive — see picking thresholds.
Services#
The services panel shows what is enabled for the organisation and its state.
A sensible morning routine#
- Are all servers online?
- Are there open alerts?
- Is any project still waiting for approval from yesterday?
If all three are clean, the dashboard has done its job and you can close it.
When the dashboard is empty#
A new organisation shows zeroes because there is nothing to report yet. Start at the Quickstart.
Raise a ticket and someone will pick it up. Sign in with the same account you use for the panel.
